Starbound heading to Consoles

 The Space adventure never ends

It has just been revealed (After so long) that Starbound will be receiving a Port to Consoles and let me be the first to say that it will be astounding. Starbound is an adventure-sandbox game similar to Minecraft and Terraria however, the game goes a bit further with this concept as it applies new world generations and quest lines that can be completed to further enhance your skills. When the game starts out in the Planetary command station and you have created your character, the game does really well with rewarding you in experiencing the trance of space exploration. It is one of the many games that has a short start-up so you can head straight into the gameplay and mechanics to enjoy the wonders of space and each different planet. From what I have observed, it will be coming soon this year to Xbox and surely it will be coming to PlayStation as well.

How Starbound continues to add replayablity

Within every game lies one key element that everyone looks for and that is replayablity. Most games that get released have one purpose and that is usually to tell a story and follow through a set path to get to a conclusion and once meeting these terms, the game is finished and loses its value. It is one very important factor that many game developers look into as it allows gamers to enjoy the game ever more. One example of which is the game Skyrim (made by Bethesda), it is one of many games that even after completing the main quests, there are still many more tasks to complete and enjoy what the game offers. In Starbound, you are limited on what you can do in the game, if you want something you create it and see it through until the end. What I enjoy the most about the game itself is that there is always a new world to explore and enjoy so if you are out of resources to obtain in an area, you can head to a new world and obtain new resources and advance your progress. By gathering new resources to use, the character will be able to utilize new crafting materials to create Armor and Weaponry to survive in the cruel and harsh environments as every planet is not meadows and flowerbeds. If this game becomes available during the Summer, it will definitely leave an impression on many faces.

Thoughts and Concerns

If this game becomes exclusively available to one Console (Which I hope does not occur) then everyone will surely be missing a great title. A game such as this deserves to be on all Platforms and to be experienced with your friends and enjoyed to the fullest. One great thing that I love about the Chucklefish games studio is that they love putting Easter eggs in their games and it adds so much value to their games as well. A game that offers great Easter eggs allows one to enjoy what a developer has placed in the game and laugh about it, An example of which is in their game Terraria where they had a monster drop the great and powerful Buster Sword from FF7. If they proceed and follow through with this game release, it will be one of many great titles that I will get to own in 2018.
