Remasters and Remakes I would like to see.

Game Remakes/Remasters that would be great

There have been a few articles regarding Remakes and Remasters that people would like to see be brought back to life so I figured I would list the ones that I would like as well. These are games that I played on many systems back then like the PlayStation, Gamecube, and even the Xbox. The list may have some recognizable titles if you were a 90's kid so maybe there will be some titles that you recognize as well. Some of the titles were not very popular or taken very lightly as they may have been challenging to some players so without further ado, here is my Top Ten list that would be phenomenal to bring back to life.

  1. Spike capturing lose ape and Spector (Down Below)

Ape Escape: Starting off at number one would be the great monkey chaser/snatcher game that has our character Spike capturing them all. What made this game so fantastic was the great idea of capturing apes and fun little mini-games it provided to entertain gamers. The experience that enthralled myself the most was the mini-games honestly as they were absolutely creative and fun to play also they provided so multiplayer function to them which included snowboarding/skis and even a miniature version of Galaga. The greatest times that I had with this game was heading off into new areas and seeing the different places that the game has to offer. I remember heading off to space one time and seeing the little apes jumping like they were in Space (Zero-Gravity) and it is still the most memorable thing from the game to me. Now, the game is available on the PSP (PlayStation Portable) and Original PlayStation but more or less not many people have these Consoles anymore. As for Game Systems that I would love to see this on is current gen consoles and on PC as 60 FPS Ape Escape would look stunning.

  2. Snake in Combat with enemy soldiers

Metal Gear Solid: Next off on the list is my personal favorite that Hideo Kojima will be known worldwide for and that is his game Metal Gear Solid. This Stealth-Espionage is the best game that I have ever played as stealth plays a huge factor in the game. The man that is Codenamed Snake (David Hayter) is the main protagonist in here and his mission told by Roy Campbell (His commanding Officer) that there was word that Shadow Moses Island has a Metal Gear. Metal Gear is a weapon that is Man-made and could very well rule over Military wars as it is designed for war and destruction. In the wrong hands, it very well can control any tide of war and it is Snake's job to make sure that Metal Gear does not see the light of day. As for gameplay as you may have guessed, it is heavily stealth based game, however you can be loud if you want to be and it will not hinder your game at all just be a bit more difficult. The challenges that this game offers is what makes the whole game great and what will be most memorable for anyone is switching your controller to player 2 and I will not spoil why that is however it will be awesome if you get to play the game. As of now, you can play the game on PlayStation and PSP through the PlayStation Store, now please note that it is not a remake/remaster of the game but a port if you will and it still delivers that great feeling it is known for. This would absolutely look phenomenal in current gen consoles and imagine how great the graphics would look, unfortunately it is unlikely that it would ever be remade due to terms with Konami.

  3. Medievil HUD & Graphics (PS1)

Medievil: Back from the dead with no recollection as to why he has been resurrected, our hero Dan comes back from the dead and must find out why he has been revived along with saving his kingdom. The game is a great hack and slash with key elements that make it different from others as it has a few dark humor in the game, I mean come on the main character is undead. There are some funny moments with Sir Dan as his death animations are hilarious and even the narrator is humorous as well. In the game, it has a very dark atmosphere and looks what an ideal cemetery would look like and what I admire the most is the worlds that you can visit and the characters. Medievil is only on PlayStation and I am unsure if they have it on the PlayStation store to be purchased as last time I checked it was no longer available. The only system I would like to see this on is the PlayStation 4 or on PlayStation VR as I can see you playing Dan and swinging swords at enemies.

  4. Cover Art
    Gameplay of Getting Up

Getting Up: If Jet Set Radio had a sister/brother, it would be this game just more urbanized and modern. The key element that makes it stand out is the custom art you can make in the game and using graffiti art to show your art. As I write this part of the article, I just want to say that I do not recommend doing graffiti in the streets or public areas as it can lead to serious charges and now back to the game. This game is not what I would recommend to younger children as it can be a bit challenging to figure out where to go and how to correctly spray the art in the game. There is a bunch of key components that you have to establish before starting your spray and that can be a bit of a letdown for a few young gamer. I was mostly into this game for the astounding artwork that it provided and stunning physics within their game and the story is very interesting. The game is available for the Original Xbox and PlayStation 2 and is a fantastic game that I would recommend. For this game, I would say to have it remade for the PlayStation and Xbox so others can experience the fun little urban gameplay it provides.

  5. Creatures of Eternal Darkness attacking Alex
    Cover Ar

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem: This game was one of those early childhood games that I remember from my Dad playing where I was basically like "Umm, no thank you not playing it" because it was heavy on puzzles and combat. If I to relate this game to a current game, I would say Dark Souls just lacking the riddles and puzzles. As far as gameplay, it is a classic camera type game meaning Fixed Cameras at certain angles and there are many secrets in the game. One of the key things that are great with the game are the endings you can get and the choices you make. It has some very challenging times that will make you decide weather or not it is worth fighting all the time. There are times when you will question if you must head back to areas as you may have missed a key item that will help you head to the next area. The game is available for the GameCube and I would love to see a Nintendo Switch version of the game or even PC.

  6. Rue fighting in first area

Threads of Fate: One of the main things that gamers in video-games look for is creativity and innovation and Threads of Fate does a fantastic job at it. As a gamer, you are always looking for something new or something that has not been done before and this game does it well. There are two characters that you play as and each character is unique in their own way when you play their story. An example of the unique features that the game offers with each character is the ability to shape shift or use magic. The gameplay is outstanding and the soundtrack for the game is great as well. SquareSoft is the company that made this great game that definitely left a memory in my heart. The game is available only on PlayStation, however I am unsure if they have the game playable through the PlayStation store.

  7.
    Combat in Legend of Dragoon
    Concept Art

The Legend Of Dragoon: This is one other great gem that plays similar to many memorable games like Final Fantasy. It has unique features to the game that makes it quite similar to a Final Fantasy game such as turn-based combat and a similar limit breaker that lets you become an absolute badass. One key element that makes the games combat good is a mechanic called "Additions" where you will be prompt to hit a designated button and if imputed correctly, you will get additional damage issued to the enemy. Many critics had mixed reviews on the game due to the "Additions" mechanic as they stated that it was too difficult and needed to be precise. I would not say that this mechanic is a terrible addition because it rewards the players for their efforts. The great thing about playing this game is as you advance through the story and learn more of the characters, it can offer great equipment and depth to the game itself and may impact how you perceive characters. To say the least, this game is massive and not to mention heavily on story and best of all, it is by far the greatest game that I have played that is not related to Final Fantasy. It is exclusively on PlayStation and may be available in the PlayStation Store.

  8. Cover Art of Alan Wake

Alan Wake: Being a fan of mystery/thriller games, Alan Wake certainly delivers well in that genre and has an astounding story behind it. It is one of the few games that I would say that you will want to collect everything as it does explain key points in the story which is the one downfall for the game. For Example: There are manuscripts that you collect from Alan Wake himself as he is the man caught in his own story and if you are questioning who a character is or what type of role they play in his story, you will be left bewildered about their role in the game itself. If you just play the game and not worry about the manuscripts (which you can do) then it would not be an enjoyable experience as you will lack the full experience. The game itself is available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and I highly recommend this for all gamers.

  9. Nemesis capturing Jill Valentine ( Former STARS member)

Resident evil 2 & 3: One of the Original hit zombie games by far is the Resident Evil series. They were always challenging and made you choose your fights carefully as ammo is scare as it would be in any post-apocalyptic game. Being a zombie game, it does have some unique creatures in the city of Raccoon city such as Nemesis (An T-Type Zombie) and a creature known as a Licker. This is one game that I recommend for all classic gamers and ones who like challenges as if you are adventurous (like me) and use no saves or no health items and items they reward players who are daring include Infinite Grenade launcher and Infinite Magnum ammo. The other Resident Evil games include similar challenges as well which is always adding more challenge to those who want to partake in it. It is available on PlayStation and hopefully they are working on a remake of the games as Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 were remade.

  10.
    Horror scene that marked history.

Silent Hill: The final one on my list is Silent Hill and if remade, I am hoping for something more then what the HD collection of Silent Hill had. The main reason I say this is due the HD collection being made for consoles, there were some key elements that made the game memorable such as an eerie fog in Silent Hill 2 and some frame rate issues that really do make the game less enjoyable. If the HD collection got remade and worked out all the kinks then that would great in itself. The original Silent Hill was the one of many great creations that I would go as far as to say that it started the horror genre for games and with its psychotic twists and chaotic atmosphere, it was one of the best. It is available for purchase for PlayStation and hopefully one day will get remade for current-gen consoles.

For my friends that read this list, I will be doing a few giveaways for free to people that follow and subscribe to my blog. A few items to mention are gift cards to Shutterfly and PSN/XBOX/Steam cards. I hope that everyone has a great day and always enjoy gaming to your hearts content.
