The Gaming Rant ( Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild)
What is the Gaming Rant?
The Gaming Rant will be a new blog post where the writer talks of games that were played and their own opinion of the game. If you have not guessed it by the title, the topic is Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild.
What is Legend Of Zelda?
As a young lad, I was always playing Video-Games as a child. I was told that when I was physically able to coordinate and play with a controller, this was my first game. It was not a NES edition of Zelda, it was the one that would always stay with my memory forever, which to this day, still is my favorite childhood memory. The game that I am referring to is Ocarina of Time as it captivates the Princess and Hero of time. There are so many different Legend of Zelda games that only one word can explain it and that word is Astounding.
The game talks of a land, a land so vast and glorious that all the people were blessed with its beauty and that land is Hyrule. In the calm land of Hyrule, it is ruled by the King who takes care of all in his land and the story begins not with the king but his daughter Zelda. The King would tell of tales to Zelda of a ancient power passed on from many generations known as the Triforce powers and if awakened, Zelda will have the Holy power of the Triforce. In the land of Hyrule, there is a tale that which a entity known as Calamity Ganon will rise to destroy the land of Hyrule and cause harm to its people and Zelda will have to rise up to stop him. In what will be the greatest trial for Zelda, there is one problem, and that is she has not awakened her power.
The great Calamity Ganon will not only rise to destroy Hyrule, he has been known for centuries to cause havoc upon Hyrule. In preparation to stop Ganon, Zelda trains to harness her powers but fails to awaken her power and decides to build a machine to help destroy Ganon known as Guardians. These Guardians were made to defeat Ganon and along them were four ancient Guardians that would be controlled by four chosen champions to defeat Ganon. This is where I will stop as I do not want to spoil the story of the game anymore.
The Game Itself and What it Offers?
When I talk of Breath of the Wild, I will say there are a ton of Pro's and some Con's if not many. For starters, the game offers a wide variety of objectives to do right off the bat. You are not doing a grocery list of quests that must be done or doing something in order to progress further, in fact you can face Calamity Ganon at the start of the game ( I do not recommend this, however if you want a challenge then do so, more on this later). You awake from slumber as Link ( Hero of the story) and the story begins and from here you meet a lone old man. He tells you that it is dangerous and that you should solve ancient shrines to get stronger. Once completed, you begin your journey and can freely explore the land of Hyrule.
My thoughts of Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild (DLC Included)
These are all my personal thoughts of the game and nothing more as everyone is happy to have their own opinion of the game. The overall game of Breath Of The Wild is exhilarating, there is nothing more satisfying than blowing off a frozen moblin off a cliff and flying away on your Paraglider or even shield-surfing. Next, we come to the DLC's of the game and to myself, I believe they add more depth to the characters as well as the Master sword ( The weapon used in Zelda Games). The two DLC's (Trials of the Sword and The Champions’ Ballad) offer challenges that put the player in the most intense fights and puzzles that will make Link more powerful for Calamity Ganon. Here is where I state my personal opinion on the entire game itself, I believe that the Calamity Ganon fight was a little poor as other games offer a more intense fight with Ganon himself. That being said, I was expecting something more from the fight with Calamity Ganon. For example: I was hoping that when you complete the dungeons that Link would have assistance with the fight with Calamity Ganon. This next part contains Spoilers so if you do not want to read this, Please skip this section.
I hope that you have read the end of the top section as this will contain spoilers. When you complete the dungeons in The Breath Of The Wild, the Ancient Guardians fire a beam at Calamity Ganon that reduce his health to Half and you are to fight him from there. Now, if you have completed the DLC's, this changes as the Trial of the Sword DLC allows the Master Sword to get powered up and do more damage to enemies and even Calamity Ganon bosses. The Champions' Ballad offers a chance to fight your Guardian bosses again to get more power from the Champions who control the ancient Guardians, this means reduce time or even more damage. Once the DLC's have been completed, Link basically becomes Invulnerable with power and can destroy anything with one swing from the Master Sword. All of this makes Calamity Ganon a joke and makes him a poor boss fight. I get that the game wants to reward the player for their hard work but I was not wanting a boss with no fight. Calamity Ganon to myself was missing something, I think that they needed a humanoid Calamity Ganon to liven up the experience of the fight. To conclude the Gamer's Rant, I believe that the game deserves a 9/10 from myself as everything was amazing, from the gameplay to the DLC's to the boss fights and the only thing lacking to myself was the Final fight which can be fixed or left as is just a downside for me is all. From the bottom of my heart, Legend of Zelda will be a game that not only changes your idea of gaming, it will send shivers to your gamers tooth to want more and that is the Legend Of Zelda that I will always Cherish.
