Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Review
Is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Good?
I have been playing the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for quite some time. By quite some time, I mean I have literally stopped playing any game out there right now because this game is awesome. There is a wide range of game modes to play as soon as you start up the game and with how great all Smash games are, I just had to pick this game up right away. Please note that I am in no way responsible for what happens with your friendships as I will say lots of my friendships were thrown out the window once I got this game. Getting back on the topic at hand here, You start out on the main hub here.
From which you have your smash option which allows players to play standard matches or modify them in special smash. Following the lineup is Spirits, which is the blurred out part of the picture, This mode allows you to unlock the new features known as spirits and play the Story Mode World of Light; Spirits are what are used to power your amiibros I mean amiibo up and scale their levels or help your journey in the World of light. There is an option on Spirits called Spirit boards which help unlock more rare spirits to assist your journey in World of Light. Now, we have the Games & More options which hosts the Classic mode, Mob Smash, Training, Mii Fighter (creating a mii), and adding an Amiibo. Overall, this sums up what the main game has to offer but it begs the question... Is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Good? OF COURSE Not... IT IS FREAKING AMAZING.
The Game And You
There are a variety of ways to play this game and enjoy the content that it offers to you as a player. If you have played the previous Smash Bros. then Classic mode will feel very similar to you.
I will say right off the back that Classic Mode is very quick and if you are wanting to unlock characters while enjoying the game then play this mode. There are a variety of videos on Youtube saying to set up a Smash Game mode and set all these rules to get the new fighter to appear. I can say that I have tried this many times and follow each step and it does not work always. Every now and then you will get the prompt for a new fighter and you must win to unlock the character (Do not worry if you lose, It does not mean you will not get to see the fighter again...More on this later) once you win, that character will be in your Fighter Roster for all game modes including Online. If you did not guess it yet, you must unlock the characters in order to play them in Online as the game does not allow you to have all the characters playable in Online Mode. You must work hard to get all 76 Characters in the game and only then will you be able to enjoy Smash for what it is really worth. In conclusion here, Classic mode not only will offer the most entertaining way to unlock your characters in Smash, it will provide endless fun for unlocking new fighters.
A Challenger Approaches and Losses
Every mode (excluding Online from what I noticed) allows a chance of fighting new foes and getting them playable in your rooster. This is from the earlier postings and that is that I found it quite easier to play Classic Mode to unlock the fighters as World of Light can take quite some time just to unlock a character. The way that World of Light unlocks Characters (SPOILERS, SCROLL DOWN IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THIS PART) is by utilizing what was told in the story. All our smash fighters were contained by Galeem and what this being has done is molded our fighters to be puppets to his will. Kirby, being the only one to have escape, must follow the path set forth and rescue our fighters from the almighty being Galeem. Kirby, first encounters Mario to which becomes the next fighter you can play if you choose too and so on and so on. Earlier, I mentioned that if you lose you can see these challengers again and do not worry, I am not going to say you have replay the entirety of what you did just to unlock the prompt again. The Game Devs of Smash made it reasonable as they have added a new prompt icon called Challenger Approaches which is on Games & More, and again if you lose (which I have lost some because F-TIER YOSHI) the prompt may show up and this time you can choose the fighter you want to defeat the new foe.
