CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 4 TO PUT OTHER BATTLE ROYAL GAMES TO REST?

THE GAME THAT MAY PUT OTHER BATTLE ROYALS TO REST

There are so many things to talk about the new Call Of Duty and as of now, they are mostly praise. I was a bit skeptical about this game, as was anyone, on the fact that this will be the exact same as other COD games like jet-packing, High-jumps, and an overkill amount of kill-streaks. What I did get in return was a huge surprise to me, The game has many things that were being looked at and Treyarch may have hit a home-run on this game. There were some problems in the beta that I am sure are going to be fixed like Lag issues, Party/Grouping with friends, Not being able to use your own controller in the game, and even Hard-Crashes. When you get past all of these things however, the game plays amazingly well and has a variety of things to offer that other shooter games lack. The concept I am referring to is Realism as many games start to lag behind this and put random junk that should not be in a game aka Jet-packs. From just playing the games BETA, it definitely made me feel (for once) excited for a Call Of Duty game.

How will the game stand out from other Games?

From testing the BETA of the game, there is a number of outstanding things that Call Of Duty took in and made tweaks for players to not feel lacking in areas. A great example of this is the Perks System and how it is incorporated in the game. In other titles of Call Of Duty, these Perks would give players a Buff to make your character have certain traits, such as increased health or a second wind. Now, Perks are time-based meaning that you have a certain time frame of a perk that you activate. One of my favorite perks to use was Stalker as it made your footsteps silent and sounds louder so you could predict where another player would come in from and get the jump on them before they did on you. There was a number of unique things in the game as well such as grappling onto building and using a wide variety of vehicles (Helicopter, Boats, Cars, Trucks, Quads, ETC..) which made me fall in love with the game mode Blackout. To put it all simply, this game will be unlike any other shooter game out there as they have hit the nail on everything anyone could ask for.

Is there similarities with other Battle Royal games?

To say that there are similarities is a vague term none the least. Every game out there has something that makes it unique in its own and there are tons to list out. One game that I can say easily is Player's BattleUnderGrounds (PUBG), and I am sure this comes no surprise. I will list off things that the two have and do not have in their games just to show its unique traits in their games.

PUBG:

Now, PUBG has a few things that are different from BO4 like Looting and even Driving Vehicles. To put into nice terms, the game does lack variety in itself that BO4 "One-Ups" their game. A fine example is easily the vehicle choices and aiming mechanics. PUBG can be played in either 1st person or even 3rd person whereas Call Of Duty is limited to only 1st person. Another valid point is what everyone that play PUBG on Console sees which is still "Playdough Style" building (Not Rendered so it looks bland and distorted) and this is a huge disadvantage because the Players that do have their games loaded with building can loot gear while the ones that can not even see/enter the building are stuck until their game loads it in. Overall, there are some things that I will say Black Ops lacks as well.

BO4:

Black Ops 4 does lack some things that make the game a bit lack luster (again, it was in BETA so it may be fixed) such as Looting system and Party markers (more on this in a sec). The game has somewhat of a poor inventory system as I found I was having a time-consuming task just to put attachments on and checking how much items I could carry on my person. That is something that I will praise PUBG on as they do an excellent job on narrowing down what you need and do not need in your game. Now, Party markers is something that I did want to address as in the game, you could not see where your allies were and what map markers they pinpoint. I am sure this is a glitch/bug (again it is BETA) however it was rather annoying to see these appear/disappear or not see them at all.

Conclusion:

In conclusion to my analysis, I still believe that Black Ops will put other Battle Royal Games to shame as there is so much that they will add to make it stand out from others. To be fair, this is a AAA studio and it will be very interesting to see what other concepts that they include in their new game mode Blackout. You may have noticed that I did not include games like Fortnite, DayZ, or even Realm Royal and that is simply because I do not believe to compare the games as they are still not in Full-Release. You could argue on Fortnite but honestly I have yet to play another game that has building mechanics in their game. That is one thing that certainly stands out in Fortnite so I did not include in this Post. Overall, The game will truly add fire to the Battle Royal genre and it will be something that gaming fans will not want to miss.
